PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Riker (ranked 2147 p4p, 2479 weight class) and Jah Kid (ranked 141 p4p, 158 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Riker might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In The Summertime. Kid comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Walk - Pantera kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kid lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Riker pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Riker walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kid uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Riker.
Riker feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kids jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A slow jab from Kid misses its intended target.
Kid throws a jab but it's blocked by Riker.
Kid slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Riker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kid missing with a left hand there. Riker was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Riker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Riker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Riker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kid is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kid wants to pass to mount but Riker is defending the position.

I would just about give that final round to Jah Kid.
Well Kid has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
