Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donner Keil (ranked 1078 p4p, 1524 weight class) and Derrick Lewis (ranked 161 p4p, 214 weight class). Donner Keil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donner Keil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derrick Lewis!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keil connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lewis momentarily.
Lewis doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Keil connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Derrick Lewis has been cut.
Keil with a nice calf kick.
Keil misses with a right hand

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Keil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Keil has his foot on Lewis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lewis works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Keil is pulling down on Lewis's head. It's preventing any offense from Lewis, at least for the moment.

Keil looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lewis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Keil is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Keil manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Keil's guard.

Keil is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lewis is aware though and is defending well.
Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Keil is retaining full guard.

Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Keil wants to stand and escape but Lewis is having none of it.

Keil is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lewis defends well.
Keil seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Keil seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Keil looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lewis has picked Keil up and slammed him! Keil can't keep hold of the triangle and Lewis manages to pass to side control!

Lewis gets to mount! Keil was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Lewis is just content to waste time from the top position. Keil takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Keil is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Keil is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lewis wants to pass the guard but Keil is keeping the position.
Lewis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Keil utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That was a close round but I would say that Donner Keil will probably get the nod.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Keil shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Keil throws a head kick but Lewis moves out of range.
Lewis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Keil sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Donner Keil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Lewis.

Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Keil sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown. Keil tries to sprawl out of it but Lewis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Keil throws a left and a right that both miss

and Lewis counters with a takedown into side control.
Derrick Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Keil tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lewis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Keil manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Keil is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lewis pulls his head out easily.
Keil manages to get to full guard.
Lewis wants to control from the top but Keil keeps moving.

Keil looking to control.

Keil throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lewis escapes and throws Keil's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Lewis wants to control but Keil is keeping him busy.

Lewis tries for a kimura but Keil is defending well.

Lewis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Keil has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lewis but great work by Keil.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Keil is trying to get an arm triangle but Lewis is defending well.

Lewis is trying to improve his position.
Keil tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Keil is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lewis tries to buck Keil off but Keil is having none of it.
Keil advances to full mount.

Keil stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lewis checks a low kick from Keil.
Keil lands with a shot to the body.
Keil works Lewis's body with a nice hook.
A combination from Keil does no damage.

Lewis gets a takedown into half guard.
Keil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Keil works his way to full guard. Good work.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Keil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Keil throws a big counter combination but Lewis scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lewis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Keil quickly recovers to half guard.

Lewis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Keil.
Keil lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Keil counters with a three punch combo that has Lewis backing up. Lewis nods at Keil to acknowledge the strikes.
Derrick Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Keil counters with an outside leg kick.
Keil throws a nice inside leg kick.
Keil is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lewis can do to turn this around?

Derrick Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Keil fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

As Lewis backs away, Keil returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

and Keil counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lewis drops his hands for a split second and Keil immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Lewis face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Keil follows up with a right hand that knocks Lewis into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Donner Keil!
An out of breath Donner Keil thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
