Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bantam Rooster (ranked 2706 p4p, 2667 weight class) and Chilli Bloke (ranked 203 p4p, 200 weight class). Chilli Bloke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bantam Rooster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chilli Bloke!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloke lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rooster at a distance.
Bloke fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rooster looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rooster definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Good shot there by Rooster.
Nice body punch from Rooster.
Bloke moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Rooster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bloke.
A combination from Bloke does no damage.
Bloke cracks a nice hook into Rooster's ribs.

Rooster gets the takedown into side control.

Rooster thows a huge punch but Bloke dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rooster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Bloke throws a jab when Rooster was well out of range.

Bloke now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Bloke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bloke trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rooster's guard.

Bloke got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rooster has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bloke has managed to get both his arms back between Rooster's legs - danger averted.

A close round but Chilli Bloke will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rooster tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Bloke felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Rooster thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bloke's head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bloke looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Rooster pushes past his half guard into mount!
Bloke holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rooster tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bloke tries to escape but Rooster has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Rooster is looking for a choke. Bloke gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Bloke manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rooster has his foot on Bloke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bloke works his way back into a safe position though.

Rooster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bloke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bloke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bloke has gone for a leg lock! Rooster slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bloke's guard.


Bloke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rooster defends it easily.

Bloke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rooster gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bloke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bloke has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rooster should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bloke has tightened it up now! Rooster should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
