And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 25 losses; Richard Anderson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Nice sprawl there from Peieira as Anderson shoots in. Peieira drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anderson sprawls and moves away. Anderson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Peieira circles away. Peieira attempts a counter takedown but Anderson avoids it well and moves away. Peieira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Caio Peieira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Anderson. Anderson clinches. Peieira changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Anderson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Anderson wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson tries to clinch but Peieira is having none of it. Peieira drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anderson sprawls and moves away. Anderson clinches up against the ropes. Peieira stops a takedown attempt from Anderson.
Anderson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Peieira after a bit of a struggle. Peieira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Anderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Peieira has hold of one of Anderson's legs. Anderson is fighting the takedown attempt but Peieira gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Peieira (2) vs (0) Anderson Peieira has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Anderson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Peieira is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Anderson pulls down on the head and he's put Peieira to sleep! This one is all over!
