Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Soap (ranked 1009 p4p, 1448 weight class) and Chaz Popizicki (ranked 138 p4p, 197 weight class). Soap's entrance music is Clean Up - Barney The Purple Dinosaur. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chaz Popizicki!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soap turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Popizicki has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Soap throws a leg kick but Popizicki sees it coming and moves out of range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Soap wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Popizicki's hips, looking to push off. But Popizicki grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Soap screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
