Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cris Sander Ruiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sandy Conner!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conner tries to clinch but Ruiz moves out of range.

Ruiz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ruiz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Conner flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Ruiz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Conner trying to hold on to Ruiz's head to control him but Ruiz postures up.

Ruiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ruiz stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Conner for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ruiz rushes Conner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ruiz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ruiz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Conner to the mat! Conner manages to get full guard.
Ruiz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Conner can't keep his opponent in guard - Ruiz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ruiz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Conner!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz controlling the position easily from mount.
Ruiz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Conner looks a forlorn figure.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ruiz with the ground and pound from mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cris Sander Ruiz dominated that round.

Ruiz lands a left and a right that send Conner crashing to the mat, dazed. Ruiz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Conner is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Ruiz explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Conner is still on wobbly legs! Can Ruiz finish him?
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Ruiz! This one is all over!
