Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Panished Snake (ranked 4494 p4p, 4327 weight class) and Oscar Fernandes (ranked 403 p4p, 399 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Panished Snake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Fernandes! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Snake. Fernandes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Snake swats him away and circles back towards the center. Snake tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fernandes manages to circle out of the way. Snake slaps away a takedown attempt from Fernandes, before circling back to the center of the mat. Snake gets tackled into the cage by Fernandes. Fernandes maintains the clinch. Snake works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Fernandes lands a good elbow from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snake engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fernandes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Snake stopping the sweep attempt from Fernandes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fernandes can do anything to dispel that myth. Snake looking to sit in guard and control but Fernandes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Fernandes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fernandes wants to control from the top but Snake keeps moving. Snake being controlled here, momentarily. Fernandes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Snake wants to stand but Fernandes is controlling the position. Snake working a defensive guard here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fernandes is defended easily by Snake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fernandes misses with a looping left. Snake thinks about countering with a head kick. Fernandes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Fernandes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Snake half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Fernandes moves into the clinch. Fernandes is stalling here.
Fernandes prevents Snake from breaking the clinch. Fernandes has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Snake after a bit of a struggle. Panished Snake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Fernandes. Snake prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Snake pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Fernandes is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Snake is defending well. Fernandes has Snake pressed against the cage, preventing Snake from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Snake is trying to pull guard but Fernandes turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Snake wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fernandes takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Panished Snake will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Snake scores with a hook to the body. Fernandes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Fernandes throws an off balance right hand
and Snake counters with a one-two to the body. Fernandes misses with a looping right. Fernandes jabbing away but nothing is landing. A head kick misses from Snake. Snake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fernandes can do to turn this around? Fernandes looks to land a left hand but Snake moved out of range nicely. Snake slips under a jab from Fernandes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fernandes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Snake sprawls well. Snake wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fernandes gets slowly back to his feet. Snake misses with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fernandes misses with an uppercut. Fernandes throws a hook but Snake blocks it. Snake was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Snake clinches up with Fernandes and pushes him back against the cage. Fernandes taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Snake leaning his opponent against the cage. Fernandes prevents Snake from breaking the clinch. Fernandes is trying to break free. A bit of stalling here from Fernandes.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fernandes stalls. Fernandes is looking to take this one to the mat. Fernandes goes for a takedown attempt but Snake pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Panished Snake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Fernandes. Fernandes misses the jab. Panished Snake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fernandes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Snake changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. A head kick by Snake misses and Fernandes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fernandes. Snake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Fernandes tries to stall but Snake uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Snake as Fernandes tries to tie him up. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Oscar Fernandes. Fernandes dives in and grabs Snake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snake pushes down on Fernandes's head and hops out. Snake moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Fernandes avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Fernandes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Snake lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Snake with a body punch. A glancing blow. Fernandes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Snake fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Fernandes on the side of the head.
It looks like Oscar Fernandes has been cut. Left hook, right uppercut from Snake.
Fernandes is rocked! Snake has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fernandes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Snake avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Snake is fighting off a takedown attempt but Fernandes is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Snake to the mat. Snake regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Snake pushes Fernandes off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Fernandes is breathing heavily. Snake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fernandes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Snake somewhat. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Panished Snake dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Oscar Fernandes's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Snake uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fernandes. Snake is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Fernandes. Snake shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fernandes as he jumps to the side. Snake doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fernandes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Snake's guard. Fernandes trying to control but Snake is working from the bottom. Fernandes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snake swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snake looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fernandes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snake wants to sweep here but Fernandes controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snake wants to get back to his feet but Fernandes is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fernandes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Fernandes sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fernandes throws a hook but Snake blocks it. Snake closes the distance and clinches. Fernandes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Snake is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Snake lands an uppercut. Fernandes wants a takedown but no success here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Snake lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Fernandes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Snake stays in close to Fernandes's body and controls the position. Fernandes looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Snake not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fernandes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fernandes throws a big shot that misses. It looked like Snake was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Fernandes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Snake. Snake tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fernandes manages to circle out of the way. Oscar Fernandes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fernandes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Snake has one foot on Fernandes's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Snake lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Panished Snake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fernandes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Panished Snake showed his dominance in that final round. Well Snake has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
