Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Costa (ranked 4368 p4p, 4436 weight class) and Reese Madden (ranked 397 p4p, 400 weight class). Madden has chosen Shut Up as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madden fails with a takedown attempt.
Madden is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Costa's half guard.
Madden performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Madden's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Costa gets back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madden works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Still in half guard, Madden seems content to control.

Costa tries to roll over but Madden keeps him under control.

Madden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Madden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Costa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Madden has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Costa defend it? Madden steps over the head and cranks it - Costa is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Madden!
