Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Tone (ranked 4402 p4p, 25097 weight class) and Santos Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 553 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Tone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Santos Carlson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tone misses the shot to the body. Carlson throws a counter combo. Carlson throws a head kick that misses. Carlson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tone.
Carlson shoots in and bounces Tone off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Tone kicks Carlson off and gets to his feet. Carlson wants to land a leg kick but Tone is out of range. Carlson fails in his attempt to clinch. Tone scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tone tries to bum rush Carlson with a series of wild strikes but Carlson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carlson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tone connects with a body shot. Donk. Tone catches Carlson right on the button with a cross. Santos Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tone lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A looping hook to the body misses from Tone. Carlson does a little dance to reset his feet. Carlson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Tone throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tone throws a right hand that Carlson ducks under and follows up with a left that Carlson also avoids with ease. Carlson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tone to the mat! Tone manages to get full guard. Tone has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Carlson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Carlson looks winded! Tone has hold of one of Carlson's legs. Carlson is fighting the takedown attempt but Tone gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Carlson trying to keep a closed guard but Tone is proving a slippery customer.
Tone postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Tone stays in close to Carlson's body and controls the position. Tone stands and throws Carlson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Tone taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tone in side control lands a decent elbow. Tone working the ground and pound from side control. Tone scores with a couple of short elbows. Carlson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Tone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tone has hold of Carlson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Carlson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Tone cranks the arm and Carlson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Carlson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tony Tone!
