Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bentley Rocha (ranked 4495 p4p, 4186 weight class) and Diego Lopes (ranked 262 p4p, 247 weight class). Lopes has chosen Por Mi Mexico Remix as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Lopes!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocha scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Lopes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rocha swivels and escapes.
Lopes shoots in for a double leg but Rocha sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rocha throws a sloppy head kick and Lopes moves out of range easily.
Lopes misses with a looping left.
Rocha misses with a straight right.
Lopes tries to counter by closing the distance.

Rocha gets tackled into the cage by Lopes. Lopes maintains the clinch.

Lopes pulls guard.

Lopes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rocha looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Lopes tries to bum rush Rocha with a series of wild strikes but Rocha uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lopes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rocha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lopes has Rocha in his guard.

Rocha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lopes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rocha has managed to get both his arms back between Lopes's legs - danger averted.
