Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scooby Doo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keke Ikonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikonen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream Remix. Keke Ikonen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keke Ikonen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doo shoots in for a double leg but Ikonen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Doo shoots for a double leg takedown but Ikonen sprawls well. He's pushed Doo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Doo connects with a high kick.
Doo shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scooby Doo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ikonen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Doo misses with a knee strike.
Ikonen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Ikonen pushes Doo off and scrambles back to his feet.
Doo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ikonen drives through and clinches with Doo against the cage.
Doo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Doo breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ikonen.
Doo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Doo explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Ikonen fails with the takedown.
Doo shoots and misses
so Ikonen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Doo is breathing heavily.
Ikonen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ikonen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ikonen stands up and waves to Doo to follow him.
Ikonen looks for a takedown but Doo sprawls well.
Doo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ikonen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Doo wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ikonen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ikonen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Doo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Doo keeping moving, preventing Ikonen from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Doo shoots and misses
and Ikonen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Doo's guard.
Ikonen trying to control but Doo is working from the bottom.
Doo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ikonen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Doo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ikonen's back instead.

Ikonen looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Doo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Doo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ikonen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Keke Ikonen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ikonen shoots in and drives through. Doo sprawls well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ikonen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Doo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ikonen is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Doo is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
