Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Frost (ranked 4079 p4p, 4023 weight class) and Nelson Blanchard (ranked 462 p4p, 0 weight class). Frost comes to the cage accompanied by Texas. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nelson Blanchard! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blanchard tries to sprawl but Frost drives through with a takedown into half guard. Frost is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blanchard is just riding it out for now. Frost eventually gives up the hold. Blanchard tries to get to full guard but Frost has control of the leg. Frost with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanchard wants to improve his position but Frost is controlling well.
Frost is taking a breather. Blanchard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Blanchard trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Frost controlling the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Frost closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Blanchard quickly recovers to half guard. Blanchard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frost. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Blanchard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Frost is working away from the top position though. Frost wants to work for an arm triangle but Blanchard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Frost content to control rather than advance. Blanchard wants to control but Frost is keeping busy and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blanchard can do anything to dispel that myth. Blanchard is trying to control but Frost passes into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Frost grinds an elbow into Blanchard's temple. Frost controlling the position from side mount. Blanchard is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Frost scoring with punches from side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Frost has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Blanchard is trying to keep an underhook but Frost manages to get the takedown into half guard. Frost stalling. Blanchard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Frost. Frost is controlling the pace.

Frost seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blanchard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Frost is really struggling to control Blanchard but he's trying to hold on to the position. Blanchard wants to get back to full guard. Blanchard has a hand on Frost's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Frost takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Blanchard is controlling an arm, preventing Frost from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Frost manages to capitalize on a mistake by Blanchard to take his back! Blanchard is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Frost controlling the position well here. Blanchard rolled but Frost kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Frost has one arm under Blanchard 's neck. Blanchard is controlling the other arm well. He's just looking to survive right now. Frost manages to get his arm free though and Blanchard is in a world of trouble! Frost sinks in the hooks and squeezes! Blanchard turns purple and then goes limp. The referee steps in to end the bout!
