Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve McNightNight (ranked 5256 p4p, 4502 weight class) and Brad Taves (ranked 478 p4p, 425 weight class). Steve McNightNight looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Taves!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Taves misses

and McNightNight counters with a takedown into side control.
McNightNight trying to control the action but Taves is working from the bottom.
McNightNight tries to advance to mount but Taves denies him.
Taves is trying to get back to half guard.
Taves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McNightNight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McNightNight decides to stand back up. McNightNight steps back and let's Taves get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Taves fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McNightNight is out of range.
McNightNight tries to counter with a takedown but Taves is quick to defend against it.
Taves misses with a series of wild punches.

McNightNight walks into a straight right hand from Taves.
McNightNight is breathing heavily.
Taves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McNightNight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taves pinned against the cage. Taves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Taves looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Taves rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McNightNight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McNightNight tried to counter with a leg kick but Taves avoided it.
The crowd cheers as Taves lands an impressive looking overhand right. McNightNight doesn't seem phased though.

so McNightNight counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McNightNight prevents Taves from getting back to his feet.
McNightNight definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Taves is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
McNightNight trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McNightNight stops Taves from standing up.
McNightNight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McNightNight postures up in Taves's guard and throws a big left but Taves blocks it.

Taves uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Taves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brad Taves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and McNightNight decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taves's guard.
McNightNight advances position into side control!

McNightNight is trying to get an arm triangle but Taves is defending well.

Taves throws a combination that misses

and McNightNight counters with a nice double leg into side control. Taves won't be happy with that.
Taves is looking to regain half guard here but McNightNight keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Taves tries to escape but McNightNight is in control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brad Taves will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Taves connects with a body shot that sends McNightNight's belly button to the back.
Taves throws a right and a left that McNightNight avoids nicely.

Taves lands a left and a right that send McNightNight crashing to the mat, dazed. Taves thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

McNightNight is rocked!

It looks like Steve McNightNight has been cut.
No joy there for Taves, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh McNightNight is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taves has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Taves misses with a head kick.
Taves wobbles McNightNight with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Taves dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts McNightNight to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
