Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Gunnarsson (ranked 1607 p4p, 2393 weight class) and Rakeem Marley (ranked 221 p4p, 308 weight class). Marley has chosen Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Magnus Gunnarsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rakeem Marley! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gunnarsson.
A quick step to the side and Gunnarsson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Gunnarsson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marley manages to avoid it. Gunnarsson throws a body shot but no joy. Gunnarsson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marley swats him away and circles back towards the center. As Gunnarsson backs off Marley throws a huge counter combo but Gunnarsson manages to avoid it all. Marley misses with a wild combination.
Marley throws a combination that misses and Gunnarsson counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gunnarsson is trying to pull guard but Marley turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Marley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marley is looking to clinch. Gunnarsson tries to counter with a takedown but Marley is quick to defend against it. Marley misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Gunnarsson counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunnarsson fails in his attempt to clinch. Marley throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gunnarsson pushes Marley up against the cage in a clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Marley pushes Gunnarsson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Marley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson misses with a takedown attempt - Marley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Marley lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice takedown defense from Marley. No joy for Gunnarsson on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magnus Gunnarsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick by Marley misses and Gunnarsson counters with a shoot takedown. Marley fights it but they end up in guard. Gunnarsson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Marley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gunnarsson defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marley is trying to control the position but Gunnarsson postures up. Gunnarsson tries to free his leg and advance position but Marley is retaining full guard. Gunnarsson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Marley manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gunnarsson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Marley - the referee stops the clock and Gunnarsson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Marley. Gunnarsson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Marley lands a body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunnarsson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Gunnarsson scores with a nice head shot. Marley throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gunnarsson counters by moving into the clinch. Marley is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gunnarsson is defending well for now. Gunnarsson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Marley is trying to break free. Marley can't get the takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Marley's face as he tries to break the clinch. Gunnarsson has a couple of punches blocked by Marley.
Marley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Marley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gunnarsson is looking to counter punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marley throws a combination that misses and Gunnarsson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gunnarsson blocks a head kick by Marley.
Gunnarsson tries to counter with a takedown but Marley is quick to defend against it. Gunnarsson fails in his attempt to clinch. Marley lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gunnarsson clinches up with Marley and pushes him back against the cage. Marley tries to pull guard but Gunnarsson holds him up against the cage and eventually Marley drops back down to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gunnarsson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gunnarsson looking to pass the guard. Marley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rakeem Marley will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Gunnarsson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marley sprawls well. Marley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gunnarsson gets slowly back to his feet. Rakeem Marley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gunnarsson clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gunnarsson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Marley just stands there and leans against the cage. Gunnarsson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Marley wants to stand but Gunnarsson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Marley won't allow Gunnarsson to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marley trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunnarsson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marley passes into half guard. Marley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gunnarsson is just riding it out for now. Marley eventually gives up the hold. Marley seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Marley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Marley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gunnarsson defends it well. Gunnarsson wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunnarsson is looking to control Marley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gunnarsson avoid being mounted? Marley trying to control the action but Gunnarsson is working from the bottom. Marley seems to be looking for submissions.

Gunnarsson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Marley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Marley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gunnarsson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Marley can't fight it off and eventually Gunnarsson manages to take the fight to the floor. Marley looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Marley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gunnarsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gunnarsson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marley dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marley throws a right and a left that Gunnarsson avoids nicely. Gunnarsson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Rakeem Marley seems to be getting the better of the standup. Marley jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Some wild striking there from Marley.

Gunnarsson moves away from the strike by Marley. Gunnarsson attempts a counter takedown but Marley avoids it well and moves away. Marley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Marley listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Marley misses with a double jab
and Gunnarsson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Marley is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Gunnarsson rather than just go for the knockout. Gunnarsson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gunnarsson. Marley doesn't manage to clinch there - Gunnarsson circles away.
Rakeem Marley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Gunnarsson throws a leg kick and Marley counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Marley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gunnarsson tries to counter with a takedown but Marley is quick to defend against it. Magnus Gunnarsson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A looping hook to the body misses from Marley. Gunnarsson does a little dance to reset his feet. Gunnarsson tries a low kick but Marley avoids it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Marley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gunnarsson throws a nice looking combination but Marley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Rakeem Marley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Marley winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
