Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Christy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fujii Yamagushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eric Christy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fujii Yamagushi! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamagushi connects with a right hand. Christy shakes it off. Yamagushi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Christy. Yamagushi lands a right hook to the body.
Yamagushi lands with a nice body punch. Yamagushi moves in looking to clinch but Christy pushes him off. Fujii Yamagushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yamagushi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yamagushi drives through and clinches with Christy against the cage.
Yamagushi breaks from the clinch.
Yamagushi tries to clinch but Christy moves out of range. Yamagushi lands with a straight right. Christy didn't see that one coming. Yamagushi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Christy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Yamagushi scores with a one two! Christy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Christy is looking to clinch but Yamagushi is avoiding it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Yamagushi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Yamagushi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Christy shoots in for a double leg but Yamagushi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Christy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Christy is breathing heavily. Yamagushi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Christy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Yamagushi looks to land a combination. Christy sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Yamagushi clinches with his opponent.

Yamagushi gets through Christy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Christy tries to pull guard but Yamagushi won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yamagushi pulls him back up using the underhooks. Christy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Christy is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Yamagushi has Christy pressed against the cage.

Yamagushi wants to get back to striking at distance but Christy won't allow it.
Yamagushi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Christy shoots in looking for a takedown. Yamagushi tries to sprawl out of it but Christy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yamagushi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Yamagushi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Christy backs up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yamagushi closes the distance and clinches.

Yamagushi just leaning against Christy, taking a breather. Yamagushi manages to break the clinch.
Christy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Christy throwing strikes but missing. Yamagushi looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Christy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Christy wants to pass the guard but Yamagushi is keeping the position. Yamagushi looking for a sweep. Not yet Yamagushi, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Christy postures up in Yamagushi's guard and throws a big left but Yamagushi blocks it. Christy won't allow Yamagushi to sweep him here. Christy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Christy lands a couple of elbows. Christy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yamagushi closes the distance and clinches. Christy keeps control of Yamagushi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Christy is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yamagushi digs a right hand into Christy's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Christy's gas tank. Yamagushi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Yamagushi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fujii Yamagushi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Yamagushi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Christy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamagushi's waist but Yamagushi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Christy off to one side. Yamagushi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Christy shoots in but no luck this time. Christy keeps the fight on the outside. Christy shoots for a takedown but Yamagushi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Christy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Yamagushi.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yamagushi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. He's got hold of a leg but Yamagushi swivels and escapes. Fujii Yamagushi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yamagushi fails with an attempt to clinch.

Christy jumps guard but Yamagushi stands there with Christy around his waist. Christy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Christy misses with a takedown attempt - Yamagushi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Christy shoots for a takedown but Yamagushi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Yamagushi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nope, Yamagushi circles away and we're back to standing. Christy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yamagushi as he avoids it easily. Yamagushi tries to grapple but his opponent circles so Christy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Yamagushi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Yamagushi keeping moving, preventing Christy from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Christy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Christy drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Christy seems to have locked his on tight now - Yamagushi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Christy, as he picks up the win!
