Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bo Brands!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vilkas Putovas!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brands swinging wildly here.
Brands gets a double leg takedown into Putovas's guard.
Brands throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Brands in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Putovas is looking to stand up but Brands isn't so interested in that idea.
Putovas keeping moving, preventing Brands from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Putovas wants to get back to his feet but Brands is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brands engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Brands sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Putovas's guard.

Putovas looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've been hearing good reports from Brands's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Brands is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Putovas is just riding it out for now. Brands eventually gives up the hold.
Brands is working for a kimura but Putovas is defending it quite comfortably.
Putovas tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Brands manages to move to mount!

Brands has hold of Putovas's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Putovas manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brands is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Putovas is surviving well by controlling Brands's body position as best he can.
Brands is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Putovas has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Putovas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Brands.
Putovas wants to try and get back to his feet.
Brands tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Putovas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Brands goes for an armbar but Putovas turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Putovas.
Brands has his hands on Putovas's head, controlling the position.
Brands has his foot on Putovas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Putovas works his way back into a safe position though.

Brands is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Putovas rolls with it to try and escape but Brands cranks on the arm and Putovas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
