PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Ja Maica (ranked 2723 p4p, 2567 weight class) and Jim Fish (ranked 285 p4p, 128 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ja Maica!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Fish!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maica takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Maica fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fish takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Maica on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Fish counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Maica throws a low kick but Fish avoids it.
Fish pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Maica lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fish circles away quickly and effectively.
Maica connects with a crisp jab.
Fish slips a jab and a cross from Maica.
Maica fails to land with a series of punches.
Fish tries a quick counter leg kick but Maica is wise to it.
Fish misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maica.
Maica is looking to counter with a body kick.

Fish throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fish falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maica counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Maica throws a low kick but Fish avoids it.

Fish takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fish misses the shot to the body.
Maica lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fish paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Maica gets tackled into the ropes by Fish. Fish maintains the clinch.

Fish now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Jim Fish comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fish has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jim Fish tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
