Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23815 p4p, 23753 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Way Nada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 50 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 43 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Kiang closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Nada works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Nada is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kiang seems keen to control Nada's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nada.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiang managing to control the position.
Kiang tries to land a sweep but no joy.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nada content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nada gets a takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nada is taking a breather. Kiang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kiang trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nada throwing shots but Kiang is blocking nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada stalling.
Kiang is looking for a sweep. Nada is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nada looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kiang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nada sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And Nada responds with a good body kick, but Kiang manages to step out the way in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nada misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kiang jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Nada shoots in and drives through. Kiang sprawls well.
Nada tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kiang defends well and Nada ends up having to push Kiang into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kiang makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Way Nada dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Kiang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nada.
Kiang jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Kiang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nada circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nada enables Kiang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nada manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiang throws a big right hand that misses.
Kiang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nada swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nada pulls Kiang in close to prevent any damage.
Kiang is stalling in the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nada controls Kiang momentarily but Kiang frees himself.
Nada has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nada shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kiang sprawls well. Kiang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nada gets slowly back to his feet.
Kiang is looking to counter with a body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nada as he jumps to the side.
Nada counters with a body kick.
Nada fails with a takedown attempt.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kiang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kiang lands in his opponent's guard.
Kiang controlling from the top position.
Nada pulls Kiang in to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kiang is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nada managing to control the position.
Kiang looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nada is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nada throwing strikes but missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kiang shoots and misses
and Nada counters with a body kick that stops Kiang in his tracks momentarily.
No luck for Nada with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nada throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kiang was covering up waiting for the punch and Nada finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Yawa Kiang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nada content to stall in guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Way Nada.
I've got Nada winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
