And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 65 wins and 38 losses; Jackson Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Richard Clark.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Ramirez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balkan as he jumps to the side.
Ramirez closes the distance and clinches up with Balkan, looking for a takedown. Ramirez pushes Balkan against the cage but Balkan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Balkan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Balkan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramirez pinned against the cage. Ramirez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ramirez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Balkan's half guard.

Balkan looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Ramirez pushes past his half guard into mount!

Let's hope that Ramirez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Balkan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Balkan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Ramirez jumps into side control!

Balkan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ramirez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Balkan is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Balkan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
