Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby McIntosh! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerry Widing! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Widing avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Widing takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Widing fails with the takedown. Widing misses with a takedown letting McIntosh counter with a right hand. McIntosh misses with a hook. Widing shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Widing trying to control but McIntosh is working from the bottom. McIntosh wants to sweep here but Widing controlling him for the moment. McIntosh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Widing on the ground. Widing trying to control but McIntosh is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Widing is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Widing trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McIntosh tries to land a sweep but no joy. McIntosh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. McIntosh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Widing thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. McIntosh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Widing is one step ahead there. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Widing postures up.
Widing stopping the sweep attempt from McIntosh. Widing forces his way into half guard. McIntosh definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Widing seems to be looking for submissions.
Widing is working for a submission of some sort.
Widing is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McIntosh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Widing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Widing is looking for a kimura here.
Widing is looking to take a break and control but McIntosh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McIntosh is trying is best to control the position here. McIntosh is refusing to be controlled, as Widing sits in half guard. Widing is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Widing seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. McIntosh is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
