Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Barry Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Tyson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Barry Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Tyson!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murphy.
Murphy tries to bum rush Tyson with a series of wild strikes but Tyson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice uppercut lands for Tyson. That snapped Murphy's head back.
Murphy doesn't manage to clinch there - Tyson circles away.
Tyson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Murphy swivels and escapes.
Murphy is looking to clinch but Tyson is avoiding it.
Tyson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Murphy counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Murphy drops back looking for a leg! Tyson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tyson manages to kick Murphy off! Murphy jumps back into Tyson's guard.
Murphy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyson pulls Murphy in close to his closed guard and prevents Murphy from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murphy wants to pass the guard but Tyson is keeping the position.
Murphy passes Tyson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tyson landing a few short strikes.
Murphy trying to control the action but Tyson is working from the bottom.
Murphy wants to pass the guard but Tyson is defending well.
Murphy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Murphy blocks the strikes from Tyson.
Tyson wants to get back to his feet.
Murphy is looking to advance position but Tyson won't allow it.
Murphy is breathing heavily.
Murphy is keen to just control but Tyson is a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tyson closes the distance and clinches.
Murphy tries to score a body lock takedown but Tyson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Tyson pulls guard successfully.
Murphy content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tyson controls Murphy momentarily but Murphy frees himself.

Murphy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tyson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tyson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tyson!
Murphy is looking to reverse the position.
Murphy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Tyson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Tyson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murphy's head.

Murphy looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Tyson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murphy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Murphy.
Murphy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tyson's guard.

Murphy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murphy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tyson keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.
Murphy thows a big elbow that misses.
Murphy advances to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Murphy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tyson is refusing to be controlled, as Murphy sits in half guard.

Murphy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tyson desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Murphy is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Barry Murphy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Tyson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Murphy advances position into side control!
Murphy trying to control the position but Tyson is working away.
Tyson is trying to get back to half guard.

Murphy is working to tighten is grip on Tyson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tyson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Murphy is really squeezing tight and eventually Tyson passes out! Murphy breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jimmy Barry Murphy!
