Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amaru Kawiwasulu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wilt Paysley!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kawiwasulu forces Paysley back against the cage and clinches.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kawiwasulu tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Kawiwasulu lands with a right to the head.

It looks like Wilt Paysley has been cut.
Kawiwasulu lands a right hand that snaps the head of Paysley backwards.
Kawiwasulu lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Kawiwasulu tightens his grip and picks Paysley up, before dumping him to the ground. Paysley manages to land in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawiwasulu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Paysley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kawiwasulu's guard.

Kawiwasulu wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kawiwasulu wants to sweep but no luck.
Paysley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kawiwasulu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kawiwasulu tries to get out of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kawiwasulu is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Paysley stands and steps away. Kawiwasulu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Paysley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Paysley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kawiwasulu counters with a straight right hand.
Paysley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kawiwasulu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Paysley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kawiwasulu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Paysley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paysley is looking to control Kawiwasulu's arms but Kawiwasulu gets an underhook and turns him. Now Paysley has his back to the cage.

Kawiwasulu wants the takedown. Paysley is fighting it off but Kawiwasulu persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Paysley's guard against the cage.
Kawiwasulu won't allow Paysley to get back to his feet.
Paysley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kawiwasulu manages to get himself to full guard.

Paysley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Paysley gets to his feet. Kawiwasulu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kawiwasulu lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

That has opened up Wilt Paysley's cut even more.
Kawiwasulu misses with a left hand

and Paysley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Paysley.
Kawiwasulu is breathing heavily.
Kawiwasulu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Paysley controls the pace.
Kawiwasulu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paysley on the ground.
Kawiwasulu wants to control the position but Paysley says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Kawiwasulu has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Paysley content to control rather than advance.
Kawiwasulu wants to improve his position but Paysley is controlling well.
Paysley is taking a breather. Kawiwasulu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Paysley frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kawiwasulu slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Paysley decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Paysley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kawiwasulu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Paysley moves out of range of the leg kick from Kawiwasulu.

Kawiwasulu closes the distance and clinches.

Paysley decides to pull guard.
Kawiwasulu is fighting to break Paysley's control of his arms but Paysley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Kawiwasulu is looking to work some ground and pound but Paysley has wrist control.
Kawiwasulu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Paysley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Paysley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kawiwasulu manages to get himself to full guard.

Paysley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Kawiwasulu has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Paysley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Amaru Kawiwasulu will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Wilt Paysley's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Paysley tries to clinch up.
Kawiwasulu scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Paysley doesn't seem bothered though.

Kawiwasulu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kawiwasulu is posturing up here but Paysley has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kawiwasulu tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kawiwasulu has to tap! Slick submission there by Paysley!
