The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolleke scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Bolleke throws a series of punches but Mercer moves out of range.
Bolleke throws a nice looking combination but Mercer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bolleke throws a hook but Mercer avoids it easily.
Mercer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mercer scores with a nice right hand.
Mercer takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mercer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bolleke appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Bolleke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mercer.

Bolleke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mercer to the mat! Mercer manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mercer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Mercer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bolleke throws a body punch but Mercer moves out of range.
The fighters circling - Bolleke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bolleke cracks Mercer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
