Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjallis Kalske (ranked 374 p4p, 511 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 59 p4p, 77 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hjallis Kalske! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kalske throws a leg kick that is checked and Shifter counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kalske! Shifter is trying to get an arm triangle but Kalske is defending well. Shifter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shifter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shifter tries for a kimura but Kalske is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kalske is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kalske is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at FF Forever, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Shifter tries for a kimura but Kalske is defending well. Shifter passes the guard and advances to mount! Shifter throwing strikes here but Kalske is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Kalske sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Shifter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kalske gets full guard. Kalske is looking for a triangle but Shifter pushes his legs off easily.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Shifter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shifter throwing strikes from guard but Kalske blocks nicely. Kalske wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Shifter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Shape Shifter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Shifter shoots in looking for a takedown but Kalske manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shifter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Shifter tries for a takedown but Kalske circles away easily and Kalske counters with a straight right hand. Kalske looks to throw the jab but Shifter is out of range. Shifter tries to counter by closing the distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kalske will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kalske looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shifter is trying to counter with his kicks. Shifter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A little feinted left hand from Kalske on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Hjallis Kalske has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shape Shifter. A telegraphed right hand from Kalske misses the target. Shifter tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Shifter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Kalske misses the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kalske throws a quick inside leg kick. Kalske leaves Shifter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kalske went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Kalske misses with a double jab
so Shifter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Shifter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shifter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shifter wants to pass the guard but Kalske is keeping the position. Kalske working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shifter. Shifter won't allow Kalske to sweep him here. Shifter distracts Kalske with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Shifter passes Kalske's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Shifter wants to work for an arm triangle but Kalske is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Shape Shifter. I've got Shifter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
