The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams moves into the clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Parsons has eaten all the pies!
Adams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Adams tries to clinch up.
Adams looks to land a combination. Parsons sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Thomas Parsons has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parsons looks for a takedown but Adams sprawls well.
Adams tries to clinch up but Parsons circles away and keeps his distance.
Adams moves into range and clinches up with Parsons.
Adams breaks the clinch.
Parsons throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Adams lands a stunning uppercut that sends Parsons to the mat!
Adams is working for a submission of some sort.
Adams wants to work for an arm triangle but Parsons is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

It looks like Adams is going to stand back up.
Parsons trying to control from the bottom.
Parsons keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Adams tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Parsons.

Adams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Parsons's waist but Parsons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adams off to one side.

and Adams counters with a stiff right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parsons.
Adams lands a jab to Parsons's midsection.

Adams darts in and clinches Parsons up against the cage.
Adams digs a right hand into Parsons's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Parsons's gas tank.
Adams has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Parsons uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
