Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Owen Carrillo (ranked 25441 p4p, 3552 weight class) and Kyle Chandler (ranked 546 p4p, 393 weight class). Kyle Chandler will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chandler tries to clinch but Carrillo moves out of range.

and Carrillo counters with a series of strikes. Chandler will be more careful next time no doubt.
Carrillo moves out of range of the leg kick from Chandler.
Chandler dives in and scores a takedown into Carrillo's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carrillo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chandler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Carrillo has his foot on Chandler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chandler works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chandler is pushing down on Carrillo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carrillo is fighting to maintain full guard but Chandler has managed to sneak the leg through.
Chandler is looking to advance position but Carrillo won't allow it.
Chandler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carrillo keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chandler is trying to control. Carrillo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Chandler is looking to take a break and control but Carrillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Chandler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Carrillo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Carrillo is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Chandler is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Chandler stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Chandler is looking to clinch but Carrillo is avoiding it.
Carrillo gets caught napping as Chandler dives in and scores a takedown. Carrillo manages to retain guard.
Carrillo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Chandler is looking to take a break and control but Carrillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kyle Chandler dominated that round.
That's time! Carrillo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chandler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chandler showed some decent athleticism there.
Carrillo has one foot on Chandler's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Chandler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carrillo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chandler is in Carrillo's guard.

Chandler wants to get up but he can't break Carrillo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Carrillo is looking to stand up but Chandler isn't so interested in that idea.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chandler's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Chandler trying to control the position from guard on top but Carrillo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carrillo has his feet on Chandler's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Carrillo blocks a head kick by Chandler.
Chandler feints and as Carrillo raises his hands in defense, Chandler changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carrillo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carrillo tries to get out of the position.
Carrillo pulls Chandler in to control the position.

Carrillo is trying to control the position but Chandler postures up.

Chandler connects with a couple of short punches.

Carrillo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chandler is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carrillo.
Carrillo is looking to regain half guard here but Chandler keeps moving and retains side control.

Chandler lands a nice forearm strike.
Chandler has an Americana. Carrillo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Chandler is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Chandler hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
