Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Porter (ranked 1062 p4p, 1957 weight class) and Ola Badmus (ranked 125 p4p, 221 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ola Badmus!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Badmus works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Porter misses with a body shot.
Nice defenses there by Porter.
Porter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Badmus.

Badmus gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Porter pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Badmus tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Porter just stands there and leans against the cage.
Badmus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Porter walks away with a smile on his face. Badmus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Badmus thumps Porter with a low kick.
Jay Porter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Porter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Badmus moves into full guard.
Porter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Badmus has his foot on Porter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Porter works his way back into a safe position though.
Porter throws an elbow that misses. Badmus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Porter's guard. Nice move by Badmus!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Porter seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Porter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Badmus's guard.


Badmus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Porter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Porter pulls Badmus in close to prevent any damage.
Porter wants to hit a sweep here but Badmus passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Porter there!

Porter is controlling an arm, preventing Badmus from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Porter is squirming around, avoiding Badmus's attempts to control the action.
Porter tries to lock up and control but Badmus gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

and Porter counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Porter.
Badmus tries to pull guard but Porter holds him up against the cage and eventually Badmus drops back down to his feet.
Badmus avoids a wild elbow strike from Porter.
Porter pushes off an throws an elbow but Badmus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Badmus jumps guard but Porter stands there with Badmus around his waist. Badmus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Porter will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Badmus is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Porter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Badmus as he jumps to the side.

The fighters circling - Badmus throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Porter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Badmus back to the cage. Porter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Porter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Badmus.

Porter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Badmus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Porter has managed to get both his arms back between Badmus's legs - danger averted.

You can see the frustration on Porter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Porter.
I think Porter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
