Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Dukes (ranked 2689 p4p, 2984 weight class) and Eugenio Roth (ranked 341 p4p, 372 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bubba Dukes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eugenio Roth! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dukes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Roth feints a counter leg kick. Roth gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dukes wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving. Dukes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dukes is working Roth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roth controls Dukes momentarily but Dukes frees himself. Dukes throwing strikes but missing. Dukes wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dukes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Roth's head. Dukes throwing strikes but missing. Dukes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dukes pushes down on Roth's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dukes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dukes sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Roth defending well though. Dukes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roth keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roth can do anything to dispel that myth. Roth trying to get back to full guard but Dukes takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! BOOM! Dukes connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dukes landing strikes from the mount and Roth is in trouble! Dukes goes for an armbar but Roth turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Roth. Roth won't allow Dukes to get back to his feet. Dukes pulls Roth in close to prevent any damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dukes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Roth off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Dukes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Roth pushes Dukes off and gets back to his feet. Dukes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Roth avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dukes throws a right hand that Roth ducks under and follows up with a left that Roth also avoids with ease. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dukes throws a sloppy head kick and Roth counters with a three punch combo that has Dukes backing up. Dukes nods at Roth to acknowledge the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Dukes. Dukes is breathing heavily. Roth is not content to let Dukes control the position. Roth tries to get back to half guard but can't. Roth takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Dukes advances nicely into full mount. Dukes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Dukes misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bubba Dukes dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dukes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Roth's half guard. Roth has one foot on Dukes's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Dukes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roth can do to turn this around? Good leg kick by Dukes. Roth avoids the head kick by Dukes.
Roth steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Dukes throws a leg kick that is checked and Roth counters with an outside leg kick.
Dukes connects with a jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dukes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bubba Dukes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Roth takes a kick to the side of the head. Dukes shoots for a takedown but Roth saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dukes shoots and misses and Roth counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Roth. Dukes wants to take the fight to the mat but Roth manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bubba Dukes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Roth tries to clinch but Dukes is having none of it. Dukes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Roth tries to counter by closing the distance. No joy there for Dukes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A big left from Dukes misses. Roth wants to clinch. Roth shoots in for a takedown but Dukes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It looked like Dukes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dukes gets the takedown into side control. Roth is trying to control Dukes's posture but Dukes avoids it. Dukes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dukes throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukes creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Dukes looks up at the clock and then as Roth takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dukes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Dukes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dukes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dukes throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Roth works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Bubba Dukes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dukes throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Roth to regain full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roth is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dukes pushes Roth off looking to stand but Roth dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dukes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dukes pushes Roth off but Roth dives into side control.
Roth is looking to take a break and control but Dukes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dukes taking punishment in the form of punches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Eugenio Roth will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Roth avoids the head kick by Dukes.

As Dukes backs off Roth throws a huge counter combo but Dukes manages to avoid it all. Dukes slaps away a takedown attempt from Roth, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dukes feinted with a counter takedown. Dukes throws a head kick but Roth moves out of range.
Roth shoots in looking for a takedown. Dukes tries to sprawl out of it but Roth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dukes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's two minutes gone in the round. Dukes taking a breather. Roth throws a head punch that misses. Dukes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Roth prevents it.

Dukes is trying to break free. Roth takes an elbow to the forehead. Roth tries to pull guard but Dukes forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Roth tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roth gets tackled into the cage by Dukes. Dukes maintains the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roth is working for takedown but Dukes is calmly controlling the position for now. Roth has Dukes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dukes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roth takes an elbow to the temple. Roth is looking to control Dukes's arms but Dukes gets an underhook and turns him. Now Roth has his back to the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dukes obliges. Dukes blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Dukes manages to pull guard.
Dukes controlling the position. Dukes continues to stall. Roth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dukes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roth has managed to get both his arms back between Dukes's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dukes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Roth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dukes wants to get back to his feet but Roth is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dukes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Roth stops Dukes from standing up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dukes throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Roth counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roth.
And that's the end of the fight! Bubba Dukes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dukes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
