0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Locc Jr! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Locc Jr forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. Johnson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Locc Jr gets underhooks to prevent Johnson's takedown attempt.
Locc Jr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Locc Jr gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Locc Jr misses with a punch on the inside.
Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Locc Jr prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet. Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Locc Jr is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Locc Jr's back instead. Johnson has the hooks in. Locc Jr is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Locc Jr rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Locc Jr actively working from the bottom here. Locc Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Locc Jr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back! Locc Jr keeps control of the position as Johnson tries to break free.
Johnson is working hard here to advance position. Locc Jr looking for the choke but no joy. Locc Jr looking for the RNC.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Johnson regains half guard. Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson looking for submissions off his back. Locc Jr is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Locc Jr seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Locc Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Johnson gets back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Locc Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Locc Jr's guard. Johnson pushes down on Locc Jr's leg and manages to get into half guard. Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Locc Jr defends it. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Locc Jr has managed to free his arm - good work. Locc Jr is in trouble now - Johnson has advanced to mount! Johnson working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Locc Jr turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Johnson off and cradles Locc Jr's limp body as Johnson celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Randall Johnson!
