The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Queso shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pereira is trying to defend but Queso finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pereira works his way to full guard. Good work.

Pereira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Queso looking to sit in guard and control but Pereira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Queso stops Pereira from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Pereira wants to finish this one by submission but Queso is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pereira.
My spies in 3Band MMA inform me that Pereira has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Queso tries to improve his position but Pereira has taken his back! Pereira has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Queso tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Pereira pushes Queso away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
