PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jaylin Ferguson (ranked 3941 p4p, 5249 weight class) and Anderson Do Souza (ranked 270 p4p, 320 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do Souza tries to clinch but Ferguson is having none of it.
A quick step to the side and Ferguson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Ferguson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Do Souza manages to avoid it.

Ferguson scores with a jab. Do Souza acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ferguson punishes Do Souza's body with a nice straight punch.

Do Souza closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ferguson quickly recovers to half guard.

Ferguson is staying active underneath Do Souza, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Do Souza frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Do Souza throwing strikes here but Ferguson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Ferguson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ferguson tries to get out of the position.

Do Souza has control of Ferguson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ferguson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ferguson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Do Souza wants to finish this one by submission but Ferguson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Do Souza.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Anderson Do Souza will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The fight stays on the outside here - Do Souza looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Do Souza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ferguson defends well and Do Souza ends up having to push Ferguson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jaylin Ferguson is winning the standup battle so far.
Do Souza takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Do Souza shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ferguson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferguson wants it to stay on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
