Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Action!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfonso Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez tries a head kick but it misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Action.
Melendez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dominic Action seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melendez throws a sloppy head kick and Action moves out of range easily.
Action stuffs the takedown attempt from Melendez. Melendez gets slowly back to his feet.
Action buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Melendez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Melendez tries to clinch there but Action circles away.
A head kick misses from Action.
Action thumps Melendez with a low kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Action.
Melendez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Melendez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Action lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Action connects with a leg kick.
A head kick misses from Action.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Action with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Action pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And Melendez tries to counter it with a takedown but Action pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Action connects with a crisp jab.
Melendez is rocked!
Action cracks Melendez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Melendez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Action pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Melendez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominic Action!
