Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Francis (ranked 2818 p4p, 4251 weight class) and Simon Cross (ranked 295 p4p, 424 weight class). Cross is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Irregular God. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jayson Francis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Cross! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Francis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cross is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Cross looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cross closes this distance looking for a takedown but Francis circles away. Francis misses with an attempted mid kick.
Francis lands with a kick to the ribs.
Cross with a lazy takedown attempt and Francis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Jayson Francis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Cross. Cross fails to land the takedown. Francis appears to be looking for a big counter. Cross shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Francis sprawls well. Francis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cross gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cross changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Francis tries to avoid it but Cross manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Francis to the ground. Francis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cross shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Francis defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Cross or perhaps it was just good defense by Francis, which made it look bad. Cross is trying hard to land a takedown here. Francis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cross gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Francis makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Cross looks winded! No luck with that takedown attempt from Cross. Cross's coach down at Tycoon Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cross's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Francis lands a big head kick that sends Cross tumbling to the mat! Francis takes a step backwards and waves Cross back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Cross is rocked!
It looks like Simon Cross has been cut. Francis thuds his shin into the meat of Cross's side. Cross is still on wobbly legs! Can Francis finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Francis digs a good hook to Cross's body.
Francis lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Cross crumples to the floor! Francis milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jayson Francis! Jayson Francis decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
