Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higanti Libat (ranked 23621 p4p, 23866 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wala Sapi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 32 - 48 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 37 - 40 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Sapi shoots in for a takedown but Libat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sapi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Libat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sapi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Libat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi pulls Libat in close to prevent any damage. Libat keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sapi's head. Sapi controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Libat slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Libat has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sapi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Libat moves away. Libat is looking to counter with a body kick. Libat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sapi swivels and escapes. Libat tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sapi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Libat somewhat. Sapi steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Libat quickly recovers to half guard. Libat wants to control but Sapi is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Libat desperately trying to maintain half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sapi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Let's hope that Sapi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wala Sapi will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Sapi has a takedown stuffed. Sapi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sapi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi is thwarting Libat's attempts to control the position. Libat is doing well to control the position and prevent Sapi from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi content to control rather than advance. Libat controlling the position well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Libat is looking to control Sapi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Libat avoid being mounted?
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Libat shoots for a double leg takedown but Sapi sprawls well. He's pushed Libat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sapi counters with a body kick. Libat fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sapi avoids it really well and circles away. Sapi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Libat napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Libat is trying to control Sapi's posture but Sapi avoids it. Libat is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wala Sapi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Sapi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Libat managing to control the position. Sapi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Libat trying to keep a closed guard but Sapi is proving a slippery customer.
Libat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sapi controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Libat looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Libat working a defensive guard here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Libat gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sapi isn't going anywhere. Sapi seems a little lost for a moment, as Libat dominates the positioning. Sapi holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Libat working the head with strikes. Sapi is trying to control Libat's posture but Libat avoids it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sapi dives in and grabs Libat's left leg, looking for a takedown. Libat pushes down on Sapi's head and hops out. It appears Libat was looking to counter with a kick there. Sapi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Libat did well to prevent Sapi getting side control. Libat trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Libat wants to improve his position but Sapi is controlling well.
Higanti Libat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Libat is trying to control but can't.
Wala Sapi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sapi performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Libat is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sapi pulls his head out easily.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Wala Sapi. Well Sapi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
