Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23967 p4p, 23904 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 52 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 40 - 43 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Good work by Kiang as he checks the leg kick. Nada just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromKiang. Kiang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nada sprawls well initially but Kiang persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nada is controlling Kiang's trapped leg to prevent Kiang from advancing to side control. Nada wants to control but Kiang is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nada wants to get back to full guard. Nada avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kiang.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Nada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Nada closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nada tries to stand but Kiang is controlling his head. Nada controls the position from side control. Kiang is looking to regain half guard here but Nada keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nada is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kiang will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nada feints and as Kiang raises his hands in defense, Nada changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nada is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kiang is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiang trying to control the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Way Nada dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Nada dives in and grabs Kiang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kiang pushes down on Nada's head and hops out. Kiang throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Nada counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kiang is pulling down on Nada's head. It's preventing any offense from Nada, at least for the moment. Kiang keeping moving, preventing Nada from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang is pulling down on Nada's head. That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Kiang lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Nada is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kiang looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nada trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Nada has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nada wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kiang. Kiang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nada swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kiang dives in for a single leg takedown but Nada sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nada is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kiang gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Nada pulls Kiang in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Way Nada will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Kiang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nada avoids it really well and circles away. Nada drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kiang defends it well. Nada shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiang tries to sprawl out of it but Nada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kiang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kiang jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Kiang as Nada shoots in. Kiang thinks about countering with a body kick. Kiang gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nada counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kiang won't be happy with that. Kiang wants to control but Nada postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nada is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kiang's shoulder. That is not cool. Nada landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Kiang wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Nada in side control, throwing shots but Kiang defends.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kiang tries to land a leg kick but Nada saw it coming and moves away.
Kiang moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromNada. Nada darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Nada is taking a breather. Kiang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang wants to control but Nada is keeping busy and won't allow it. Yawa Kiang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Nada controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nada has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
