Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Mckay (ranked 3645 p4p, 2264 weight class) and Great Tiger (ranked 367 p4p, 249 weight class). Phillip Mckay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Phillip Mckay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Great Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Francis DeMontford and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tiger has Mckay up against the cage in a clinch.
Tiger misses with some punches.
Mckay looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A head punch on the inside from Tiger fails to land.
Tiger misses with the head strike.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Tiger.
Tiger looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mckay tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tiger smiles and moves away.
Mckay avoids the body shot from Tiger.
Mckay appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Tiger throws a jab when Mckay was well out of range.
Tiger circles away from the clinch attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mckay is defended easily by Tiger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mckay throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A big left from Tiger misses.
Tiger ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mckay moves away.
Mckay throws a counter high kick but Tiger was just alert enough to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tiger scores with a sloppy right hand. Mckay should have avoided that one.
Mckay tries to clinch up but Tiger circles away and keeps his distance.
Tiger throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mckay sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mckay takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mckay looks to throw the jab but Tiger is out of range.
Tiger bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tiger misses with an uppercut. Mckay saw that one coming.

Mckay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mckay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Tiger can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mckay wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tiger, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tiger has one of Mckay's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tiger regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tiger gets back to full guard.
Tiger is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Tiger wants to sweep here but Mckay controlling him for the moment.
Tiger pulls Mckay in close to his closed guard and prevents Mckay from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mckay looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tiger circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mckay slips under a jab from Tiger.
Mckay drops down looking for a counter takedown but Tiger sprawls and moves away.
Mckay darts in trying to clinch
and Tiger counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mckay is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Tiger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tiger tries a body shot but Mckay blocks it.
A short uppercut from Tiger.
Tiger misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Tiger tries to throw a body punch but Mckay avoids it by throwing Tiger back against the cage.
Tiger lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mckay backwards.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tiger goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mckay.
Mckay looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tiger lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Great Tiger dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mckay shoots for a double leg takedown but Tiger sprawls well. He's pushed Mckay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tiger looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Phillip Mckay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tiger thows a left - swing and a miss!

Mckay looking to score a takedown here. Tiger is defending well but Mckay drives through and ends up in Tiger's guard.
Mckay is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Tiger has his hands on Mckay's head, controlling the position.

Mckay slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mckay wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Tiger seems keen to control Mckay's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mckay tries for a takedown but Tiger circles away easily
and Tiger counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tiger misses with a body shot.
A lazy left from Tiger finds it's target.
A shot to the liver by Tiger. Beautiful body shot.
Tiger has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tiger blocks a head kick by Mckay.
A nice side step and Tiger releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Mckay gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tiger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phillip Mckay. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mckay changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tiger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mckay tries to stand but Tiger is controlling his head.
Tiger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mckay off and has taken his back!

Phillip Mckay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tiger is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mckay defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Mckay looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Tiger keeps control of the position easily here as Mckay tries to buck him off.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mckay is in bad spot here.

Mckay defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mckay turns into Tiger and is now in his guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Great Tiger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Mckay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mckay wants to take a breather but Tiger is having none of it.
Mckay thows a huge punch but Tiger dodges it nicely.
Mckay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mckay is trying to control the action in half guard but Tiger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mckay is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Tiger moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tiger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mckay's guard.

Mckay is looking to sweep but instead, Tiger has passed into half guard.
Tiger is controlling the pace.
Tiger is continuing to stall.

Tiger thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mckay's head.
Mckay is looking for a sweep. Tiger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mckay is trying to stand up here but Tiger is controlling him well.
Tiger seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mckay tries to get to full guard but Tiger has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Tiger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mckay defending well as Tiger loads up on a big left hand.
Tiger looks to land a left hand but Mckay moved out of range nicely.
Mckay seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Mckay closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tiger did well to prevent Mckay getting side control.
Mckay is just content to waste time from the top position. Tiger takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mckay slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tiger manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tiger content to control rather than advance.
Mckay tries to get to full guard but Tiger has control of the leg.
Mckay trying to control but Tiger postures up.
Great Tiger is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tiger in particular looking to stall.
Phillip Mckay has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Let's hope that Tiger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Phillip Mckay.
I think Tiger has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
