The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Abner takes the fight into the clinch. Abner has picked Strdoza up - he's going for a ride! Abner dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Strdoza (0) vs (2) Abner Strdoza regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Strdoza trying to keep a closed guard but Abner is proving a slippery customer.
Abner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Strdoza being controlled here, momentarily. Strdoza working for a triangle but Abner defends it easily.
Abner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Strdoza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abner wants to control from the top but Strdoza keeps moving. Abner is sitting in close to Strdoza's body. Strdoza has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Abner is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Abner is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Strdoza.
