PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Troy Knight (ranked 3100 p4p, 3916 weight class) and Panished Snake (ranked 334 p4p, 389 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Troy Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Panished Snake!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Snake tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A combination from Knight does no damage.
Snake steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Knight.
Good work by Snake as he checks the leg kick.
Snake shoots in but no luck this time.
Knight misses with a looping left.
Snake lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That kick from Knight tenderised Snake's leg. Snake is trying to keep his angry face on.
Snake lands a right hook to the body.
Knight throws a looping overhand right but Snake ducks down to avoid it.
Snake tries to close the distance and clinch up but Knight swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Knight throws a head kick that misses.
Knight throws a nice head kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snake lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Knight circles away quickly and effectively.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Snake.
Knight throws a head kick but Snake moves out of range.
Snake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Knight.
Knight throws a big counter combination but Snake scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Snake throws a series of punches but Knight avoids them all with ease.
Knight tries to counter with a takedown but Snake is quick to defend against it.
Knight throws a head kick but Snake moves out of range.
Snake lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Knight throws the left hand but Snake avoids the punch easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Knight misses the target.
Snake tries to counter by closing the distance.
A jab from Knight misses.
A nice side step and Snake releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Snake is looking to land body kicks.
Troy Knight is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Knight throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A head kick misses from Knight.
Troy Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knight fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Nice takedown defense from Knight. No joy for Snake on that attempt.
Troy Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Panished Snake.
Knight looks to land a right hand but Snake moved out of range.
Knight looks to land a body kick but Snake moved away.
Knight sets himself, and Snake steps forward looking for the clinch! Knight avoids it this time.
A looping hook to the body misses from Knight. Snake does a little dance to reset his feet.
Snake takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Snake shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Knight defends it nicely.
Knight pushes Snake away with a front kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Snake takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Knight misses with a series of wild punches.
A jab from Knight misses.
Knight pushes Snake away with a front kick.
Knight misses with a straight right.
Snake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knight but Knight pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Knight lands a nice leg kick that just misses Snake's sensitive parts.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight throws a low kick but it's checked well by Snake.
Knight lands a nice looking kick to the body. Snake takes a step back to recover.
Knight has been working on his balance at Shut Up & Train!, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Snake.
Knight scores with a one two! Snake had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Snake is rocked!
Knight weaves into range and cracks Snake right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Snake goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Knight is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Troy Knight!
