Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spenser Swagger (ranked 3656 p4p, 2392 weight class) and Arturo Galvan (ranked 374 p4p, 254 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spenser Swagger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arturo Galvan!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swagger swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Galvan counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Spenser Swagger has been cut.
Swagger lands with a kick to the ribs.
Swagger throws a head kick that half lands.
Swagger throws a head kick that Galvan semi-blocks.
Swagger throws a quick inside leg kick.
Swagger lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Swagger jabs Galvan to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Swagger stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Spenser Swagger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Swagger lands a jab to Galvan's midsection.
Swagger thuds a left hand into Galvan's body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Galvan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Swagger - the referee stops the clock and Galvan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Swagger. Galvan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Galvan misses with a few strikes there.

Swagger lands a big head kick that sends Galvan tumbling to the mat! Swagger takes a step backwards and waves Galvan back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Galvan is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swagger lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Galvan up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Swagger from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Galvan's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Spenser Swagger!
Spenser Swagger decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
