Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 2971 p4p, 5842 weight class) and Mmm Mmm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 100 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mmm Mmm! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atsushi's corner calls for a 1-2. Atsushi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Mmm Mmm has been cut. Atsushi throws a nice inside leg kick. Atsushi darts in and clinches Mmm up against the cage. Still in the clinch, Atsushi scores with a nice short uppercut. Atsushi is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Atsushi has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mmm is trying to keep an underhook but Atsushi manages to get the takedown into half guard. Atsushi is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ground and pound from Atsushi. Nice strikes from Atsushi there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Atsushi slows the pace down in half guard. Mmm is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Atsushi scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atsushi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Atsushi is looking for a kimura but Mmm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Atsushi to get the leverage. Mmm trying to hold on to Atsushi's head to control him but Atsushi postures up.
Atsushi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Atsushi trying to mount his opponent but Mmm defends it. Still in half guard, Atsushi seems content to control. Mmm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Atsushi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atsushi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Still in half guard, Atsushi seems content to control. Atsushi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mmm sees it coming and defends easily. Mmm has hold of Atsushi's hands but Atsushi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Atsushi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mmm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Atsushi content to control rather than advance. Atsushi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mmm! Atsushi has control of Mmm's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mmm regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi controlling from the full mount. Atsushi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Atsushi is landing with some decent strikes but Mmm is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mmm is rocked! Atsushi controlling from mount. Mmm is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Atsushi locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mmm is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kuroda Atsushi! A relieved looking Kuroda Atsushi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
