PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gojo Satoru (ranked 2723 p4p, 5244 weight class) and Zoltan Lazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Satoru has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gojo Satoru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zoltan Lazar!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazar tries to clinch but Satoru moves away
letting Satoru counter with a right hand.
Lazar with a poor takedown
and Satoru connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Satoru lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Lazar clinches up against the cage.
Lazar goes for a takedown in the clinch but Satoru prevents it.
Lazar tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gojo Satoru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zoltan Lazar.
Lazar prevents Satoru from breaking the clinch.
Lazar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Satoru is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lazar is working for takedown but Satoru is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lazar wants a takedown but no success here.
Lazar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Satoru's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lazar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Satoru gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lazar wants to take the fight to the mat but Satoru manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Lazar is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Satoru is defending well.
Lazar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Satoru just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lazar prevents Satoru from breaking the clinch.

Lazar tries for a takedown but Satoru manages to get underhooks.

Lazar turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lazar manages to end up in side control.
Lazar controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lazar tries for a kimura but Satoru is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lazar just content to control the position.
Satoru knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lazar on the ground.

Satoru bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Sloppy strikes from Satoru. Those never looked like landing.
Satoru is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lazar moves into the clinch successfully.
Satoru wants to break free but Lazar has control.
Satoru wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lazar has him pressed against the cage.
Lazar is looking to take this one to the mat.
Lazar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Satoru walks away with a smile on his face. Lazar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Satoru throws a one two combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lazar clinches up against the cage.
Satoru is looking to break free of the clinch but Lazar has double underhooks.
Satoru gets underhooks to prevent Lazar's takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Satoru's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Lazar wants the takedown. Satoru is fighting it off but Lazar persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Satoru's guard against the cage.
Lazar pushing down on Satoru's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lazar performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lazar uses his free foot to push down on Satoru's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Satoru.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Satoru on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Satoru tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Lazar might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Lazar moves to the back position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Lazar is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Satoru with him. Satoru is trying to defend but Lazar has an arm under the chin now! Satoru grimaces and is forced to tap out!
