Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Laguera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 76 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrzej Bebok!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laguera with a hook.
Laguera circles away from the clinch attempt
and Laguera counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bebok is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bebok darts in looking for a takedown but Laguera gets double underhooks and turns Bebok into the cage.
Alejandro Laguera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laguera cracks Bebok with a good jab.
Laguera lands with a nice combination. Bebok backs away looking to recover.
Donk. Laguera catches Bebok right on the button with a cross.
Jab, jab by Laguera - just one landing.
Laguera pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bebok doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Laguera connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Bebok is rocked!
Bebok stuffs the takedown attempt from Laguera. Laguera gets slowly back to his feet.
Laguera swings for the body but Bebok moves out of range.
Bebok shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Laguera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alejandro Laguera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrzej Bebok.

Nice takedown defense from Laguera. No joy for Bebok on that attempt.
Laguera fails with a takedown attempt.
Laguera lands a lovely overhand right.
Laguera is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Laguera scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bebok doesn't seem bothered though.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bebok is defended easily by Laguera.
Laguera throws a sloppy head kick and Bebok moves out of range easily.
Laguera defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bebok.
Laguera scores with a one two! Bebok had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bebok is defended easily by Laguera.
Laguera seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Laguera misses with the combination.
Bebok shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bebok will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bebok tries to clinch there but Laguera circles away.
Laguera scores with a body shot.
Laguera shoots for a double leg takedown but Bebok sprawls well. He's pushed Laguera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jab, jab by Laguera - just one landing.
A lazy left from Laguera finds it's target.
Bebok is trying hard to land a takedown here. Laguera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good standup being displayed there by Laguera as he connects with a hook.
Bebok is still on wobbly legs! Can Laguera finish him?
Laguera dives in for a single leg takedown but Bebok sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
I was talking to Laguera's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Bebok swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bebok seems to have recovered his senses.

Laguera drags the fight down to the ground.

Bebok is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Laguera has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bebok is looking to defend but Laguera has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bebok! Laguera pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bebok taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alejandro Laguera!
