The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schlager moves into range and clinches up with Washington.

Washington is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Schlager can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Washington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Washington is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schlager is just riding it out for now. Washington eventually gives up the hold.

Justice Washington overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Washington is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Washington!
