Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maciej Galecki (ranked 3333 p4p, 4341 weight class) and Gord Downey (ranked 219 p4p, 267 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maciej Galecki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gord Downey!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downey shoots in looking for a takedown. Galecki tries to sprawl out of it but Downey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Galecki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Galecki seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Downey gets a clinch.
Galecki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Downey smiles and moves away.
Downey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Downey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Galecki tries to avoid it but Downey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Galecki to the ground. Galecki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Downey lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Galecki has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Galecki and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Downey throws a looping overhand right but Galecki ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Galecki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
