Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gotrek Gurnisson (ranked 5711 p4p, 4940 weight class) and Argus Reynolds (ranked 299 p4p, 276 weight class). Argus Reynolds is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gotrek Gurnisson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Argus Reynolds! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Argus Reynolds has been cut. Nice uppercut there from Gurnisson. Reynolds throws a body shot but no joy. Reynolds throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gurnisson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Reynolds. Reynolds with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gurnisson to score with a decent uppercut. Gurnisson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Gurnisson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reynolds. Reynolds throws a hook but Gurnisson avoids it easily. Reynolds ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gurnisson drops Reynolds with a right and a left! Gurnisson comes rushing in but Reynolds regains his composure and manages to keep Gurnisson in guard.
Reynolds is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gurnisson looking to pass the guard. Reynolds is still in real trouble! Can Gurnisson finish him? Reynolds looking to control.
Gurnisson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gurnisson looking to pass the guard. Gurnisson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Reynolds seems to have recovered his senses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reynolds looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds wants to control but Gurnisson passes easily into half guard.
Gurnisson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Reynolds is looking for a sweep. Gurnisson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gurnisson controlling the action here. Gurnisson moves into full mount! Reynolds won't be happy about that! Gurnisson controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reynolds is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gurnisson avoids the attempt from Reynolds to control. Gurnisson controlling from mount. Gurnisson forces the positional change into back control. Reynolds trying to get back to his feet but Gurnisson is in full control for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gurnisson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Reynolds wants to control his opponent's hands but Gurnisson gets his hands free. Reynolds is really stuck here.
Gurnisson controls the action. Gurnisson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gurnisson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Reynolds is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gurnisson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gurnisson is not going to allow Reynolds to sit and survive in this position. Gurnisson is riding his opponent, not letting Reynolds buck him off. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gurnisson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gotrek Gurnisson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Argus Reynolds's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gurnisson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gurnisson controls the position. Gurnisson tries to advance to mount but Reynolds denies him. Gurnisson is staying tight to Reynolds's torso, preventing him from escaping. Gurnisson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reynolds for as long as he can get away with. Gurnisson is trying to move to mount but Reynolds reverses beautifully and ends up in Gurnisson's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gurnisson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reynolds doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gurnisson is tightening it up a little... Reynolds has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Reynolds reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Reynolds taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gurnisson!
