This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 35 wins and 16 losses; Tyron Scott! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 67 wins and 38 losses; Jackson Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ramirez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scott pinned against the ropes. Scott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ramirez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Scott defends well and Ramirez ends up having to push Scott into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ramirez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Scott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Tyron Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Ramirez. Scott closes the distance and pushes Ramirez back into the ropes. Ramirez fails to pull guard.

Ramirez ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ramirez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We've been hearing good reports from Scott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ramirez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scott is one step ahead there. Ramirez is trying to keep Scott in close.

Scott is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ramirez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ramirez is pulling down on Scott's head. It's preventing any offense from Scott, at least for the moment. Scott wants to pass the guard but Ramirez is keeping the position.

Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ramirez tries to lock up and control but Scott gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Scott tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ramirez manages to regain half guard. Good work. Ramirez gets back to full guard.

Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramirez swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Our spies down at at KFA inform us that Ramirez has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Ramirez pulls Scott in to control the position.
