Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Le Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Silva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sushibaby. Steve Le Banner will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edson Silva!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Le Banner!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a double jab.
Le Banner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Silva throws a head kick but Le Banner moves out of range.
Silva tries to clinch up but Le Banner circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva drives through and clinches with Le Banner against the cage.
Silva is working for takedown but Le Banner is calmly controlling the position for now.
Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Le Banner can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Le Banner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silva stands up and waves to Le Banner to follow him.
Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Le Banner goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Le Banner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Le Banner to the mat! Le Banner manages to get full guard.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break Le Banner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Le Banner, up you get!
Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Le Banner was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Le Banner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Edson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Le Banner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Le Banner didn't expect that.
Le Banner has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.
Le Banner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Silva wants to stand but Le Banner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silva lands with a shot to the body.
Silva clinches up against the cage.
Le Banner is fighting off a takedown attempt but Silva is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Le Banner to the mat. Le Banner regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Le Banner, up you get!
Silva thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva scores a takedown into full mount!
Silva lands a heavy elbow.
Silva pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva lands a big shot there that rocks Le Banner but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Silva is going olschool here, as he tries to force Le Banner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Le Banner shrugs it off.
Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Le Banner is in a horrible position here. Silva smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Silva with the ground and pound from mount.
Silva looking to control but Le Banner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Le Banner wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva prevents Le Banner from getting the reversal.
Silva scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Le Banner?

Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Le Banner tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Silva lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Le Banner hang on?
Le Banner tries to hold on but Silva postures up.
Le Banner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Silva.
And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Edson Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Le Banner tries to clinch up
and Silva counters with an outside leg kick.
Le Banner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva swings for the body but Le Banner moves out of range.
Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Silva is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Edson Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silva stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Le Banner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silva.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Silva in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Le Banner tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Silva!
