The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maluga throws a hook but Tanaka blocks it.
Tanaka is looking to counter with head kicks.
Tanaka slips a jab from Maluga.
Maluga getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Kaito Tanaka has been cut.
Maluga swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Tanaka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Maluga misses with a hook to the body
and Tanaka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tanaka has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Tanaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Maluga fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tanaka manages to avoid it.
Tanaka throws a counter high kick but Maluga was just alert enough to avoid it.

enabling Tanaka to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maluga misses with a body shot
and Tanaka counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Maluga to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Tanaka!
