Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Portos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Fenili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenili comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Skazi - Hit ´N´Run kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fred Portos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Portos.
Fenili being controlled for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fenili is trying to improve his position.
Fenili can't do much from the bottom here.

Portos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Portos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

You can see the frustration on Fenili's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fenili tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Portos taking a break here but Fenili is having none of it and regains half guard.
Portos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fenili on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Portos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Portos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fenili looks gassed!
Portos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fenili controls Portos momentarily but Portos frees himself.
Portos won't allow Fenili to sweep him here.

Fenili wants to control but Portos passes easily into half guard.
Portos seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fenili trying to control but Portos postures up.
Fenili has a hand on Portos's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Portos takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Fenili is desperately trying to improve his position but Portos has a good base and remains in mount.
Portos controlling the pace for now.
Fenili is looking to improve his position but Portos isn't that keen on the idea.
Fenili reaches up to try and control the position but Portos seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Fenili rolls and tries to escape and now Portos has his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Portos biding his time, looking for the opening.

Portos is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fenili knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fenili for a finish.
Portos is trying to stick to Fenili's back but Fenili is turning into Portos. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Portos's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fenili.
Fenili wants to pass the guard but Portos is keeping the position.
Portos is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Portos looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fenili regains full guard. Nicely done.

Fred Portos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Portos has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Fenili gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Fenili not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fenili lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Portos!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Portos tries to hold on but Fenili pushes him away.
Portos could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Portos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fenili wants to control the pace but Portos is squirming around nicely.
Portos is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fenili seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Portos is holding on tight.
Fenili is looking to stand but Fenili has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Portos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Portos tries to get out of the position.
Fenili is trying to take his opponent's back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fenili tries to control but Portos wriggling away.
Portos keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Portos is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Portos dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Portos wants to stand up but Fenili is controlling the position.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Portos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fenili does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fenili is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Portos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Portos's back!

Portos defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fenili working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Portos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Portos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fenili might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Portos kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Portos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fred Portos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fenili tries to roll over but Portos keeps him under control.
Portos keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Portos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gabriel Fenili has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fred Portos showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Portos has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
