Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Simon (ranked 4792 p4p, 4544 weight class) and Karter House (ranked 268 p4p, 241 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Simon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karter House!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows House to score an easy takedown into full guard.
House tries to stand but Simon is controlling from the bottom.
Simon pulls House in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as House accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
House pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Simon is keeping the position for now.

House is looking to pass into half guard but Simon pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Simon is in guard.

Simon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

House wants to hold on but Simon pushes him away.
House really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Simon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but House is surviving well by controlling Simon's body position as best he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
House's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Simon has hold of House's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and House manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
House is looking to get to half guard.
House tries to hold on but Simon postures up.
House tries to buck Simon off but he can't manage it.

House shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Simon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
House wants to lay and pray for a moment but Simon keeps working.

House is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

House is keen to just control but Simon is a slippery customer.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
House thows a huge punch but Simon dodges it nicely.
House is just content to waste time from the top position. Simon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
House stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

House looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
House throwing shots but Simon is blocking nicely.

House thows a huge punch but Simon dodges it nicely.
House is keen to just control but Simon is a slippery customer.
Simon is holding on to half guard well.
House is looking to stall here but Simon recovers full guard.
House trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Simon manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Karter House showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


House looking to score a takedown here. Simon is defending well but House drives through and ends up in Simon's guard.
House wants to pass the guard but Simon is keeping the position.

House might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Simon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
House must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
House tries to close the distance and clinch but Simon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

House manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Simon on his heels. He'll look to pass Simon's guard now, I'm sure.

House throws a strike but Simon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Simon passes into half guard.

House is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Simon pulls his head out easily.
Simon is looking to advance position but House won't allow it.
House wants to get back to his feet.
Simon trying to mount his opponent but House defends it.

House keeping hold of Simon's head, controlling as best he can.
Simon prevents House from improving his position.
House has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Simon is working away from the top position though.
House is trying to get back to full guard.

Simon has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can House defend it? Simon steps over the head and cranks it - House is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Simon!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jake Simon!
An intense looking Jake Simon took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: '"Alright, alright, settle down everyone! First things first, I gotta give the biggest respect to my opponent right here. You came out here, you fought your heart out, and you pushed me every step of the way. Thank you for that. You made me a better fighter tonight. This wasn't just about winnin'.
